"I create my art taking inspiration from my experience in life as a spiritual being, living in a physical world.”
-Sigalit Biopcik
In the Beginning of my artistic journey, I’ve always had an interest in people's faces and figures ...
After becoming a mother to my first child, I changed my occupation from an accountant to pursue my love for art. In my first few years of studying and exploring art (focused on figure, portrait and using oil painting and charcoal,) I’ve connected to masters of art that influence my work. The masters and their influence go as following:
Vincent Van Gogh - his bright color palette and the flow of movements throughout his paintings.
Frida Kahlo - her emotional stories behind her paintings.
Leonardo Da Vinci - the thin layer of his paint and the details of his fine brushes (technique.)
Lucian Freud - The strong, emphasized feelings I experience when I see his paintings.
In 2014 I decided to explore abstract art, and I fell in love! My first inspiration was Wassily Kandinsky. In my abstract paintings, I use the same technique as I would use in a realistic painting. I paint details with thin acrylic paint and thin brushes no matter the size of the canvas.
My abstract art is a combination of my love to portrait, and abstract drawing/painting. My first abstract portrait was on September, 2016 - The self portrait titled “My energies” (PAINTINGS,) and all of my abstract portrait drawings/paintings are real people.
In the progress of my work as an abstract artist I finished my 30x40 canvas painting titled "regenerating" which is my 2nd painting in the series after "Healing#1." I then started exploring Alfa-Bet Hebrew letters in 2019 abstractly.
Thank you.
